  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to public school bus drivers;

  3         creating s. 1011.635, F.S.; requiring the

  4         Legislature to fund a cost-of-living increase

  5         in the General Appropriations Act for persons

  6         who drive buses that transport students in

  7         prekindergarten through grade 12 in the public

  8         school system; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Section 1011.635, Florida Statutes, is

13  created to read:

14         1011.635  Cost-of-living increase for public school bus

15  drivers.--The Legislature, in the General Appropriations Act,

16  shall fund a cost-of-living increase for all school bus

17  drivers in the public school system who drive buses that

18  transport children who are in grades prekindergarten through

19  grade 12, as provided in s. 1012.45. This section may not be

20  construed to conflict with chapter 447.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.
