11  The Committee on Transportation and Economic Development
12  Appropriations (Sebesta) recommended the following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 10, line 22, through
16            page 11, line 2, delete those lines
17  
18  and insert:  
19         252.357  Monitoring of nursing homes and assisted
20  living facilities during disaster.--The Florida Comprehensive
21  Emergency Management Plan shall permit the Agency for Health
22  Care Administration, working from the agency's offices or in
23  the Emergency Operations Center, ESF-8, to make initial
24  contact with each nursing home and assisted living facility in
25  the disaster area. The agency, by July 15, 2006, and annually
26  thereafter, shall publish on the Internet an emergency
27  telephone number that may be used by nursing homes and
28  assisted living facilities to contact the agency on a schedule
29  established by the agency to report requests for assistance.
30  The agency may also provide the telephone number to each
31  facility when it makes the initial facility call.
