A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to insurance agents; amending s. 626.171,
3F.S.; revising certain fingerprinting requirements;
4providing an effective date.

6Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

8     Section 1.  Subsection (4) of section 626.171, Florida
9Statutes, is amended to read:
10     626.171  Application for license as an agent, customer
11representative, adjuster, service representative, managing
12general agent, or reinsurance intermediary.--
13     (4)  An application for a license as an agent, customer
14representative, adjuster, service representative, managing
15general agent, or reinsurance intermediary must be accompanied
16by a set of the individual applicant's fingerprints, or, if the
17applicant is not an individual, by a set of the fingerprints of
18the sole proprietor, majority owner, partners, officers, and
19directors, on a form adopted by rule of the department and
20accompanied by the fingerprint processing fee set forth in s.
21624.501. Fingerprints shall be used to investigate the
22applicant's qualifications pursuant to s. 626.201. The
23Fingerprints may shall be taken at by a law enforcement agency
24or other department-approved entity and shall be available at
25all designated examination centers.
26     Section 2.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2007.
