11  Senator Villalobos moved the following amendment:
12  
13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         Delete everything after the enacting clause
15  
16  and insert:  
17         Section 1.  The Supreme Court shall establish minimum
18  standards and procedures for qualifications, certification,
19  professional conduct, discipline, and training of foreign
20  language court interpreters who are appointed by a court of
21  competent jurisdiction. The Supreme Court shall set fees to be
22  charged to applicants for certification and renewal of
23  certification as a foreign language court interpreter. The
24  revenues generated from such fees shall be used to offset the
25  costs of administration of the certification program and shall
26  be deposited into the Operating Trust Fund within the state
27  courts system. The Supreme Court may appoint or employ such
28  personnel as is necessary to assist the court in administering
29  this section.
30         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.

 7         An act relating to regulation of foreign
 8         language court interpreters; requiring the
 9         Supreme Court to establish standards and
10         procedures for qualifications, certification,
11         conduct, discipline, and training of appointed
12         foreign language court interpreters; requiring
13         the Supreme Court to set fees for certification
14         applications; specifying the use and deposit of
15         such fees; authorizing the Supreme Court to
16         appoint or employ personnel for certain
17         administration assistance purposes; providing
18         an effective date.
