7 | Campaign; amending s. 110.181, F.S.; requiring that |
8 | undesignated campaign funds be shared proportionally by |
9 | the participating charitable organizations with certain |
10 | identified programs in this state based on the percentage |
11 | of designations in each fiscal agent area; removing the |
12 | fiscal agent's right to select the steering committee |
13 | members; providing an effective date. |

15 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

17 | Section 1. Paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of section |
18 | 110.181, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: |
19 | 110.181 Florida State Employees' Charitable Campaign.-- |
20 | (2) SELECTION OF FISCAL AGENTS; COST.-- |
21 | (d) A local steering committee shall be established in |
22 | each fiscal agent area to assist in conducting the campaign. and |
23 | to direct The distribution of undesignated funds in each local |
24 | fiscal agent area shall be shared proportionately by those |
25 | participating charitable organizations with an identified |
26 | program in this state in public health and welfare, education, |
27 | environmental restoration and conservation, civil and human |
28 | rights, or relief of human suffering and poverty, based on the |
29 | percentage of designations in each fiscal agent area. The |
30 | payment of each charity's share of undesignated funds shall be |
31 | distributed in the same manner as the designations. The |
32 | committee shall be composed of state employees selected by the |
33 | fiscal agent. |
34 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2006. |
