A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to voter registration; amending s.
3372.574, F.S.; requiring subagents appointed by the Fish
4and Wildlife Conservation Commission for the sale of
5hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses and permits to
6provide individuals seeking such licenses and permits the
7opportunity to register to vote or to update a voter
8registration; requiring supervisors of elections to
9provide such subagents with the necessary voter
10registration applications; providing penalties; providing
11an effective date.

13Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

15     Section 1.  Subsection (4) is added to section 372.574,
16Florida Statutes, to read:
17     372.574  Appointment of subagents for the sale of hunting,
18fishing, and trapping licenses and permits; voter registration
19duties.--
20     (4)(a)  All subagents appointed under this section shall
21provide the opportunity to register to vote or to update a voter
22registration record to each individual who comes to the subagent
23to purchase any resident hunting license, fishing license,
24combination license, or trapping permit. Each subagent shall
25provide each individual with a voter registration application,
26which shall be provided to the subagent by the voter
27registration office in the subagent's county.
28     (b)  Within 30 days after the effective date of this act,
29each supervisor of elections shall provide an appropriate supply
30of voter registration applications to each subagent in that
31supervisor's county and thereafter at the request of the
32subagent along with appropriate contact information for each
33subagent to request additional applications.
34     (c)  Failure to comply with any provision of this
35subsection by any subagent or supervisor of elections shall
36constitute a civil infraction subject to a minimum fine of $500
37for the first infraction, $1,000 for the second infraction, and
38$2,500 for each subsequent infraction.
39     Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
