| 13 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 14 |
|
| 15 | Section 1. Subsection (4) is added to section 372.574, |
| 16 | Florida Statutes, to read: |
| 17 | 372.574 Appointment of subagents for the sale of hunting, |
| 18 | fishing, and trapping licenses and permits; voter registration |
| 19 | duties.-- |
| 20 | (4)(a) All subagents appointed under this section shall |
| 21 | provide the opportunity to register to vote or to update a voter |
| 22 | registration record to each individual who comes to the subagent |
| 23 | to purchase any resident hunting license, fishing license, |
| 24 | combination license, or trapping permit. Each subagent shall |
| 25 | provide each individual with a voter registration application, |
| 26 | which shall be provided to the subagent by the voter |
| 27 | registration office in the subagent's county. |
| 28 | (b) Within 30 days after the effective date of this act, |
| 29 | each supervisor of elections shall provide an appropriate supply |
| 30 | of voter registration applications to each subagent in that |
| 31 | supervisor's county and thereafter at the request of the |
| 32 | subagent along with appropriate contact information for each |
| 33 | subagent to request additional applications. |
| 34 | (c) Failure to comply with any provision of this |
| 35 | subsection by any subagent or supervisor of elections shall |
| 36 | constitute a civil infraction subject to a minimum fine of $500 |
| 37 | for the first infraction, $1,000 for the second infraction, and |
| 38 | $2,500 for each subsequent infraction. |
| 39 | Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
