12 following amendment:

17 and insert:
18 Section 1. Subsection (12) of section 553.36, Florida
19 Statutes, is amended to read:
20 553.36 Definitions.--The definitions contained in this
21 section govern the construction of this part unless the
22 context otherwise requires.
23 (12) "Manufactured building" means a closed structure,
24 building assembly, or system of subassemblies, which may
25 include structural, electrical, plumbing, heating,
26 ventilating, or other service systems manufactured in
27 manufacturing facilities for installation or erection as a
28 finished building or as part of a finished building, which
29 shall include, but not be limited to, residential, commercial,
30 institutional, storage, and industrial structures. The term
31 includes buildings not intended for human habitation such as

1 lawn storage buildings and storage sheds manufactured and
2 assembled offsite by a manufacturer certified in conformance
3 with this part. This part does not apply to mobile homes. The
4 foundation systems set forth in rules 15C-1 and 15C-2, Florida
5 Administrative Code, are acceptable systems for all types of
6 manufactured buildings.
7 Section 2. Subsection (12) is added to 553.37, Florida
8 Statutes, to read:
9 553.37 Rules; inspections; and insignia.--
10 (12) A manufactured building that otherwise complies
11 with this part and that is intended to be used for 2 years or
12 less shall be permitted to use a foundation system designed
13 and installed in accordance with the standards adopted
14 pursuant to s. 320.8325(1). Use of the building shall be
15 extended for an additional 2 years upon application to the
16 authority having jurisdiction and an inspection of the
17 foundation system to determine its integrity and ability to
18 perform. An application for an extension may not be denied
19 without a complete inspection and verified findings of fault
20 with the foundation system. This subsection does not apply to
21 a residential manufactured building or factory-built school.
22 Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
23 law.

1 An act relating to manufactured buildings;
2 amending s. 553.36, F.S.; authorizing the use
3 of certain foundation systems for all types of
4 manufactured buildings; amending s. 553.37,
5 F.S.; authorizing the permitting for a
6 specified time of manufactured buildings that
7 use a foundation system designed and installed
8 in accordance with certain standards;
9 authorizing such use to be extended upon
10 application and inspection; prohibiting the
11 denial of such extension without an inspection
12 and verified findings of fault with the
13 foundation system; providing that the act does
14 not apply to residential manufactured buildings
15 or factory-built schools; providing an
16 effective date.
