11  The Committee on Health Care (Fasano) recommended the
12  following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments) 
15         On page 19, between lines 8 and 9,
16  
17  insert:  
18         (5)  The agency shall develop and implement a strategy
19  for the adoption and use of electronic health records,
20  including the development of an electronic health information
21  network for the sharing of electronic health records among
22  health care facilities, health care providers, and health
23  insurers. The agency may develop rules to facilitate the
24  functionality and protect the confidentiality of electronic
25  health records. The agency shall report to the Governor, the
26  Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the President of
27  the Senate on legislative recommendations to protect the
28  confidentiality of electronic health records.
