A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to the City of Lauderhill, Broward County;
3extending and enlarging the corporate limits of the City
4of Lauderhill to include specific unincorporated lands
5within said corporate limits; providing for transfer of
6public roads and rights-of-way; providing for powers and
7services over annexed area; providing for continuation of
8contracts in effect prior to annexation; providing an
9effective date.

11Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
12
13     Section 1.  The present corporate limits of the City of
14Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so
15as to include, in addition to the territory presently within its
16corporate limits, the area consisting of a portion of Sunrise
17Boulevard, particularly described as follows:

19That portion of Sunrise Boulevard in Section 31,
20Township 49 South, Range 42 East, Broward County,
21Florida, described as follows:

23BEGINNING at the South One-Quarter (S 1/4) corner of
24said Section 31, said point being on the municipal
25boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as established by
26Ordinance No. 040-10-219;

28THENCE Westerly along said municipal boundary and the
29South line of said Section 31 to a point of
30intersection with the East line of the Southwest One-
31Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE 1/4)
32of the Southwest One-Quarter (SW 1/4) of said Section
3331, said point being on the municipal boundary of the
34City of Lauderhill, as established by Ordinance No.
3580;

37THENCE Northerly along said East line and said
38municipal boundary to a point of intersection with the
39centerline of Sunrise Boulevard, as shown on the plats
40of THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP I and THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP
41II, as respectively recorded in Plat Book 139, Page 2
42and Plat Book 143, Page 47, of the Public Records of

55with the Northerly prolongation of the West line of

57thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 142, Page 20, of the
58Public Records of Broward County, Florida;

61said municipal boundary to a point on the South line
62of said Section 31, said point being on the municipal
63boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as established by

69     Section 2.  The present corporate limits of the City of
70Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so
71as to also include, in addition to the territory presently
72within its corporate limits and the area described in section 1,
73the area consisting of a portion of N.W. 31st Avenue,
74particularly described as follows:

77East, Broward County, Florida, described as follows:

80line of said Section 5 with the North line of the

1951 through 3, a small commercial property abutting Sunrise
196Boulevard to avoid the creation of an enclave, particularly

231     Section 5.  All public roads and the public rights-of-way
232associated therewith, on the Broward County road system, lying
233within the limits of the lands subject to annexation herein, are
234transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to the jurisdiction
235of the annexing municipality.
236     Section 6.  On the effective date of this act, the City of
237Lauderhill shall be responsible for and embodied with all
238municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,
239including, but not limited to, police powers and fire and
240emergency services, over territory hereby annexed.
241     Section 7.  Nothing in this act shall be construed to
242affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts, or
243between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in effect
244prior to the effective date of the annexation.
245     Section 8.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
