| 7 | services over annexed area; providing for continuation of |
| 8 | contracts in effect prior to annexation; providing an |
| 9 | effective date. |

| 11 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 12 |
|
| 13 | Section 1. The present corporate limits of the City of |
| 14 | Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so |
| 15 | as to include, in addition to the territory presently within its |
| 16 | corporate limits, the area consisting of a portion of Sunrise |
| 17 | Boulevard, particularly described as follows: |
| 18 |

| 19 | That portion of Sunrise Boulevard in Section 31, |
| 20 | Township 49 South, Range 42 East, Broward County, |
| 21 | Florida, described as follows: |
| 22 |
|
| 23 | BEGINNING at the South One-Quarter (S 1/4) corner of |
| 24 | said Section 31, said point being on the municipal |
| 25 | boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as established by |
| 26 | Ordinance No. 040-10-219; |
| 27 |
|
| 28 | THENCE Westerly along said municipal boundary and the |
| 29 | South line of said Section 31 to a point of |
| 30 | intersection with the East line of the Southwest One- |
| 31 | Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE 1/4) |
| 32 | of the Southwest One-Quarter (SW 1/4) of said Section |
| 33 | 31, said point being on the municipal boundary of the |
| 34 | City of Lauderhill, as established by Ordinance No. |
| 35 | 80; |

| 37 | THENCE Northerly along said East line and said |
| 38 | municipal boundary to a point of intersection with the |
| 39 | centerline of Sunrise Boulevard, as shown on the plats |
| 40 | of THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP I and THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP |

| 47 | East line of COSTOYA PLAT, according to the plat |
| 48 | thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 142, Page 20, of the |

| 50 | being on the municipal boundary of the City of |
| 51 | Lauderhill, as established by Ordinance No. 04-10-217; |

| 53 | THENCE continuing Easterly along said centerline and |
| 54 | said municipal boundary to a point of intersection |
| 55 | with the Northerly prolongation of the West line of |
| 56 | THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP III, according to the plat |
| 57 | thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 142, Page 20, of the |
| 58 | Public Records of Broward County, Florida; |

| 61 | said municipal boundary to a point on the South line |
| 62 | of said Section 31, said point being on the municipal |

| 72 | within its corporate limits and the area described in section 1, |
| 73 | the area consisting of a portion of N.W. 31st Avenue, |
| 74 | particularly described as follows: |

| 97 | Public Records of Broward County, Florida; |

| 100 | the North line of the Southwest One-Quarter (SW 1/4), |

| 112 | Parkway) that runs through the City of Lauderhill, particularly |

| 196 | Boulevard to avoid the creation of an enclave, particularly |
| 197 | described as follows: |

| 203 | BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of COSTOYA PLAT, |

| 216 | Sunrise Boulevard, as shown on THUNDERBIRD SWAP SHOP |
| 217 | II, according to the plat thereof, as recorded in Plat |
| 218 | Book 143, Page 47, of the Public Records of Broward |

| 221 | THENCE Westerly along said centerline to a point of |
| 222 | intersection with the Southerly prolongation of the |
| 223 | West line of said COSTOYA PLAT, said point being on |
| 224 | the municipal boundary of the City of Lauderhill, as |
| 225 | established by Ordinance No. 80; |

| 227 | THENCE Northerly along said prolongation and said West |
| 228 | line and along said municipal boundary to the POINT OF |
| 229 | BEGINNING. |

| 231 | Section 5. All public roads and the public rights-of-way |
| 232 | associated therewith, on the Broward County road system, lying |
| 233 | within the limits of the lands subject to annexation herein, are |
| 234 | transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to the jurisdiction |
| 235 | of the annexing municipality. |
| 236 | Section 6. On the effective date of this act, the City of |
| 237 | Lauderhill shall be responsible for and embodied with all |
| 238 | municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes, |
| 239 | including, but not limited to, police powers and fire and |
| 240 | emergency services, over territory hereby annexed. |
| 241 | Section 7. Nothing in this act shall be construed to |
| 242 | affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts, or |
| 243 | between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in effect |
| 244 | prior to the effective date of the annexation. |
| 245 | Section 8. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
