11  The Committee on Health Care (Peaden) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         Delete everything after the enacting clause
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 1.  The Office of Program Policy Analysis and
19  Government Accountability shall study hospital nursing
20  staffing levels concerning the quality of care, differences in
21  nursing acuity and patient risk, and the proportion of nursing
22  hours provided by registered nurses within Florida-licensed
23  hospitals. The Office of Program Policy Analysis and
24  Government Accountability shall submit a report of its
25  findings on nursing staffing levels to the President of the
26  Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by
27  February 1, 2007.
28         Section 2.  This act shall take effect on July 1, 2006,
