11 The Committee on Community Affairs (Bennett) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 2, between lines 15 and 16,
16
17 insert:
18 Section 2. Present subsection (7) of section 322.051,
19 Florida Statutes, is redesignated as subsection (8), and new
20 subsection (7) is added to that section to read:
21 322.051 Identification cards.--
22 (7) Any veteran honorably discharged from the Armed
23 Forces who has been issued a valid identification card by the
24 Department of Veterans' Affairs in accordance with s. 295.17,
25 or has been determined by the United States Department of
26 Veterans Affairs or its predecessor to have a 100-percent
27 total and permanent service-connected disability rating for
28 compensation, or has been determined to have a
29 service-connected total and permanent disability rating of 100
30 percent and is in receipt of disability retirement pay from
31 any branch of the United States Armed Services, and who is

1 qualified to obtain an identification card under this chapter
2 is exempt from all fees required by this section.
3 Additionally, any honorably discharged veteran 65 years of age
4 or older who is otherwise qualified to obtain an
5 identification card under this chapter is exempt from all fees
6 required by this section.

13 Delete everything before the enacting clause

15 and insert:
16 A bill entitled
17 An act relating to veterans; amending s.
18 296.36, F.S.; authorizing the director of the
19 Department of Veterans' Affairs to waive the
20 residency requirement for admittance to a
21 veterans' nursing home under certain
22 circumstances; amending s. 322.051, F.S.;
23 providing an exemption from certain fees for
24 issuance of state identification cards to
25 veterans; providing an effective date.
