11  The Committee on Community Affairs (Hill) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 7, between lines 7 and 8,
16  
17  insert:  
18         (d)1.  The system shall study the feasibility of the
19  establishment or recognition of zones for the purpose of
20  allowing excavation within such zones to be undertaken without
21  notice to the system as now required by this act when such
22  zones are:
23         a.  In areas within which no underground facilities are
24  located.
25         b.  Where permanent markings, permit and mapping
26  systems, and structural protection for underwater crossings
27  are required or in place.
28         c.  For previously marked utilities on construction of
29  one or two family dwellings where the contractor remains in
30  custody and control of the building site during the duration
31  of the building permit.

 2  the Legislature on or before February 1, 2007, along with
 3  recommendations for further legislative action.
