  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to water resources; amending s.

  3         373.4595, F.S.; providing legislative intent

  4         that restoration programs for Lake Okeechobee

  5         be reviewed to assess their potential to assist

  6         in implementing certain projects to develop

  7         alternative water supplies; providing an

  8         effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Paragraph (o) is added to subsection (1) of

13  section 373.4595, Florida Statutes, to read:

14         373.4595  Lake Okeechobee Protection Program.--

15         (1)  FINDINGS AND INTENT.--

16         (o)  The Legislature intends that restoration programs

17  implemented pursuant to this section be reviewed to determine

18  whether one or more programs may assist in implementing

19  projects identified for inclusion in the state's efforts to

20  develop alternative water supplies.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

22  law.
