11  Senator Posey moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         Between lines 2516-2517,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 69.  Notwithstanding s. 331.308(1)(f), Florida
18  Statutes, the current board appointees, including ex officio
19  appointees, to the Florida Space Authority Board of
20  Supervisors shall complete their appointed terms as members of
21  the Space Florida Board and shall assist Space Florida with
22  its transition. Their historical perspective, insight, and
23  expertise will ensure continuity of operations. The Governor
24  shall make appointments to fill the remaining vacancies by
25  July 1, 2006. Other vacancies occurring prior to the
26  expiration of a term may be filled as provided in this
27  section. The board of directors of Space Florida shall hold
28  its first meeting by August 1, 2006. The board of directors
29  shall appoint a president by September 1, 2006. The Executive
30  Office of the Governor shall provide staffing and transition
31  assistance to Space Florida until December 31, 2006.
