| 1 | A bill to be entitled |
| 2 | An act relating to automated external defibrillators; |
| 3 | requiring certain high schools to have an operational |
| 4 | automated external defibrillator on the school grounds; |
| 5 | encouraging public and private partnerships to cover |
| 6 | certain costs associated with defibrillators; providing an |
| 7 | effective date. |

| 9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 10 |

| 11 | Section 1. Each high school that is a member of the |
| 12 | Florida High School Athletic Association shall have an |
| 13 | operational automated external defibrillator on the high school |
| 14 | grounds. Public and private partnerships are encouraged to cover |
| 15 | the costs associated with the purchase and placement of the |
| 16 | defibrillator and training in the use of the defibrillator. |
| 17 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2006. |
