11  The Committee on Governmental Oversight and Productivity
12  (Sebesta) recommended the following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 2, line 26, through
16            page 3, line 3, delete those lines
17  
18  and insert:  
19         3.  Notwithstanding subparagraph 1., any parcel of
20  surplus lands less than 3 acres in size that was acquired by
21  the state prior to 1955 by gift or other conveyance for no
22  consideration from a fair association incorporated under
23  chapter 616 for the purpose of conducting and operating public
24  fairs or expositions, and for which the department has filed
25  by July 1, 2007, a notice of intent to surplus, shall be
26  offered for reconveyance to such fair association; however,
27  the agency that last held a lease from the board for
28  management of such lands may remove from the lands any
29  improvements, fixtures, goods, wares, and merchandise within
30  180 days after the effective date of the reconveyance. This
31  subparagraph expires July 1, 2007.
