11 The Committee on Children and Families (Lynn) recommended the
12 following amendment:

15 On page 15, between lines 22 and 23,

17 insert:
18 Section 10. Paragraphs (b) and (c) of subsection (1)
19 of section 402.3131, Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
20 402.3131 Large family child care homes.--
21 (1) Large family child care homes shall be licensed
22 under this section.
23 (b) A licensed family child day care home must first
24 have operated for a minimum of 2 consecutive years, with an
25 operator who has had a child development associate credential
26 or its equivalent for 1 year, before seeking licensure as a
27 large family child care home.
28 (c) The department may provide technical assistance to
29 counties and family child day care home providers to enable
30 the counties and providers to achieve compliance with minimum
31 standards for large family child care homes.

1 Section 11. Subsection (2) of section 402.3145,
2 Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
3 402.3145 Subsidized child care transportation
4 program.--
5 (2) The transportation system shall provide
6 transportation to each child participating in subsidized child
7 care when, and only when, transportation is necessary to
8 provide child care opportunities which otherwise would not be
9 available to a child whose home is more than a reasonable
10 walking distance from the nearest child care facility or
11 family child day care home.

17 And the title is amended as follows:
18 On page 2, line 4, after the semicolon,

20 insert:
21 amending ss. 402.3131 and 402.3145, F.S.,
22 relating to large family child care homes and
23 subsidized child care transportation,
24 respectively; revising terminology to conform
25 to changes made by the act;
