11  The Committee on Community Affairs (Bennett) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 24 between lines 27 & 28,
16  
17  insert:  
18         Section 8.  Subsection (2) of section 339.2819, Florida
19  Statutes, is amended to read:
20         339.2819  Transportation Regional Incentive Program.--
21         (2)  (a)  Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this
22  paragraph, the The percentage of matching funds provided from
23  the Transportation Regional Incentive Program shall be 50
24  percent of project costs , or up to 50 percent of the
25  nonfederal share of the eligible project cost for a public
26  transportation facility project.
27         (b)  For local governments that demonstrate
28  extraordinary local effort towards funding transportation
29  infrastructure, the percentage of matching funds provided from
30  the Transportation Regional Incentive Program shall be 75
31  percent of project costs. This provision is applicable to

 1  local governments that have adopted the full five cent gas tax
 2  authorized pursuant to s. 336.025(1)(b), and allocated at
 3  least 20 percent of the infrastructure surtax proceeds
 4  pursuant to s. 212.055(2), toward transportation
 5  infrastructure for 2 consecutive years.
