12 recommended the following amendment:

15 On page 3, line 27, through
16 page 5, line 4, delete those lines
17
18 and insert: safer dating practices as determined by the
19 provider. The notification shall be included within the terms
20 and conditions provided to new members when signing up.
21 Examples of such notifications include:
22 (a) "Anyone who is able to commit identity theft can
23 also falsify a dating profile."
24 (b) "There is no substitute for acting with caution
25 when communicating with any stranger who wants to meet you."
26 (c) "Never include your last name, e-mail address,
27 home address, phone number, place of work, or any other
28 identifying information in your on-line profile or initial
29 e-mail messages. Stop communicating with anyone who pressures
30 you for personal or financial information or attempts in any
31 way to trick you into revealing it."

1 (d) "If you choose to have a face-to-face meeting with
2 another member, always tell someone in your family or a friend
3 where you are going and when you will return. Never agree to
4 be picked up at your home. Always provide your own
5 transportation to and from your date and meet in a public
6 place at a time with many people around."
7 (2) If an on-line dating service provider does not
8 conduct criminal background screenings on its members, the
9 provider shall disclose, clearly and conspicuously, to all
10 Florida members that the on-line dating service provider does
11 not conduct criminal background screenings.
12 (3) If an on-line dating service provider conducts
13 criminal background screenings on all of its communicating
14 members, then the provider shall disclose, clearly and
15 conspicuously, to all Florida members that the on-line dating
16 service provider conducts a criminal background screening on
17 each member prior to permitting a Florida member to
18 communicate with another member.
