  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Pinellas County Water

  3         and Navigation Control Authority; repealing

  4         chapter 31182, Laws of Florida, 1955, and

  5         chapters 72-664, 74-588, 78-602, 81-471, and

  6         85-493, Laws of Florida; abolishing the

  7         Pinellas County Water and Navigation Control

  8         Authority; transferring all assets and

  9         liabilities of the authority to the county;

10         providing an effective date.

12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13  

14         Section 1.  Special laws relating to the Pinellas

15  County Water and Navigation Control Authority, including

16  chapter 31182, Laws of Florida, 1955, and chapters 72-664,

17  74-588, 78-602, 81-471, and 85-493, Laws of Florida, are

18  repealed and shall become ordinances of Pinellas County as

19  provided in section 5.02(a) of the Pinellas County Charter.

20         Section 2.  The Pinellas County Water and Navigation

21  Control Authority is abolished. All assets and liabilities of

22  the authority are transferred to Pinellas County, and Pinellas

23  County shall assume all the authority's obligations.

24         Section 3.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2007.
