11  The Committee on Criminal Justice (Wise) recommended the
12  following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 2, line 7, through
16            page 3, line 13, delete those lines
17  
18  and insert:  
19         (b)  The task force shall consist of the following 13
20  members:
21         1.  The Secretary of Corrections, who shall serve as
22  chair, and two wardens of prisons that operate prison
23  industries programs;
24         2.  A representative from the Agency for Workforce
25  Innovation;
26         3.  A representative from the Office of Workforce
27  Education within the Department of Education;
28         4.  A member of the Senate, appointed by the President
29  of the Senate;
30         5.  A member of the House of Representatives, appointed
31  by the Speaker of the House of Representatives;

A representative from the board of directors of the 2 private nonprofit prison industries corporation, as defined in 3 s. 946.503, Florida Statutes; 4 7. A representative from a local governmental entity 5 that purchases products that are produced by prison 6 industries; 7 8. A representative from a private industry that 8 regularly employs former inmates; 9 9. A representative from a private industry that 10 regularly trains inmates; 11 10. A representative from the academic community who 12 has expertise in research concerning the reentry of former 13 prisoners into society and the employment of former felons; 14 and 15 11. A former inmate who has worked in the prison 16 industries program. 17 (c) The President of the Senate and the Speaker of the 18 House of Representatives shall jointly appoint the members of 19 the task force specified in subparagraphs (b)6.-11. by July 1, 20 2006. 21 (d) The task force shall hold its first meeting by 22 July 15, 2006. 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 2 3:32 PM 01/23/06 s0192b-cj05-s02
