11 The Committee on Health Care (Peaden) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 25, line 3-22, delete those lines
16
17 and insert: (1) The department state ombudsman council shall
18 adopt rules implementing recommend to the ombudsman and the
19 secretary state and local compliant procedures. The rules
20 shall include procedures for:
21 (1) Receiving complaints against a nursing home or
22 long-term care facility or an its employee of a long-term care
23 facility.
24 (2) Conducting investigations of a long-term care
25 facility or an employee of a long-term care facility
26 subsequent to receiving a complaint.
27 (3) Conducting onsite administrative assessments of
28 long-term care facilities. The procedures shall be implemented
29 after the approval of the ombudsman and the secretary.
30 (2) These procedures shall be posted in full view in
31 every nursing home or long-term care facility. Every resident

1 or representative of a resident shall receive, upon admission
2 to a nursing home or long-term care facility, a printed copy
3 of the procedures of the state and the local ombudsman
4 councils.
