11  The Committee on Banking and Insurance (Alexander) recommended
12  the following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 51, line 15, after the period,
16  
17  insert:  The corporation must, no later than March 1 of each
18  year, provide a report to the Legislature describing the
19  reinsurance procured for the upcoming hurricane season,
20  including coverage levels, reinsurers, and costs. In the event
21  that the corporation's efforts under this subparagraph were
22  unsuccessful, the corporation shall provide a description of
23  its negotiations with reinsurers, quoted offers received, and
24  an explanation of its actions.
