1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the Florida State Employees'
3 Charitable Campaign; amending s. 110.181, F.S.;
4 revising the manner in which certain
5 undesignated funds are distributed to
6 participating charities; providing an effective
7 date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. Paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of section
12 110.181, Florida Statutes, is amended, and paragraph (e) is
13 added to that subsection, to read:
14 110.181 Florida State Employees' Charitable
15 Campaign.--
16 (2) SELECTION OF FISCAL AGENTS; COST.--
17 (d) A local steering committee shall be established in
18 each fiscal agent area to assist in conducting the campaign
19 and to direct the distribution of undesignated funds remaining
20 after partial distribution pursuant to paragraph (e). The
21 committee shall be composed of state employees selected by the
22 fiscal agent from among recommendations provided by interested
23 participating organizations, if any, and approved by the
24 statewide steering committee.
25 (e) Participating charitable organizations that
26 provide direct services in a local fiscal agent's area shall
27 receive the same percentage of undesignated funds as the
28 percentage of designated funds they receive. The undesignated
29 funds remaining following allocation to these community-based
30 charitable organizations shall be distributed by the local
31 steering committee.

1 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.

6 Provides that participating charitable organizations that
provide direct services in a local fiscal agent area will
7 receive the same percentage of undesignated funds as the
percentage of designated funds they receive. Remaining funds
8 will then be distributed by the local steering committee.
