11  The Committee on Education Appropriations (Wise) recommended
12  the following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 3, lines 14-23, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18  All rules, restrictions, and limitations set forth in this
19  section shall apply.
20         (3)(2)  Sections 295.03, 295.04, 295.05, and 1009.40
21  shall apply.
22         (4)(3)  The State Board of Education shall adopt rules
23  for administering this section.
24         Section 2.  Section 295.02, Florida Statutes, is
25  amended to read:
26         295.02  Use of funds; age, etc.--
27         (1)  All Sums appropriated and expended to carry out
28  the provisions of s. 295.01(1) under this chapter shall be
29  used to pay tuition and registration fees, board, and room
30  rent and to buy books and supplies for the children of
31  deceased or disabled veterans or service members, as defined

Florida Senate - 2006 COMMITTEE AMENDMENT Bill No. SB 2034 Barcode 332048 1 and limited in s. 295.01, s. 295.016, s. 295.017, s. 295.018, 2 s. 295.0185, or s. 295.0195, or of parents classified as 3 prisoners of war or missing in action, as defined and limited 4 in s. 295.015, who are between the ages of 16 and 22 years and 5 who are in attendance at a state-supported institution of 6 higher learning, including a community college or career 7 center. Any child having entered upon a course of training or 8 education under the provisions of this chapter, consisting of 9 a course of not more than 4 years, and arriving at the age of 10 22 years before the completion of such course may continue the 11 course and receive all benefits of the provisions of this 12 chapter until the course is completed. 13 (2) Sums appropriated and expended to carry out the 14 provisions of s. 295.01(2) shall be used to pay tuition and 15 registration fees for the spouses of deceased or disabled 16 veterans or servicemembers, as defined and limited in s. 17 295.01, who are enrolled at a state-supported institution of 18 higher learning, including a community college or career 19 center. Notwithstanding the benefits-disbursement provision in 20 s. 295.04, such funds shall be applicable for up to 110 21 percent of the number of required credit hours of an initial 22 baccalaureate degree or certificate program for which the 23 spouse is enrolled. 24 (3) The Department of Education shall administer this 25 educational program subject to regulations of the department. 26 27 (Redesignate subsequent sections.) 28 29 30 ================ T I T L E A M E N D M E N T =============== 31 And the title is amended as follows: 2 3:23 PM 03/31/06 s2034c-ea05-k0a
