14 On page 21, between lines 26 and 27,

16 insert:
17 Section 14. Subsection (7) of section 1002.23, Florida
18 Statutes, is amended to read:
19 1002.23 Family and School Partnership for Student
20 Achievement Act.--
21 (7) Each school district shall develop and disseminate
22 a parent guide to successful student achievement, consistent
23 with the guidelines of the Department of Education, which
24 addresses what parents need to know about their child's
25 educational progress and how parents can help their child to
26 succeed in school. The guide must:
27 (a) Be understandable to students and parents;
28 (b) Be distributed to all parents, students, and
29 school personnel at the beginning of each school year;
30 (c) Be discussed at the beginning of each school year
31 in meetings of students, parents, and teachers; and

1 (d) Include information concerning services,
2 opportunities, choices, academic standards, and student
3 assessment; and.
4 (e) Provide information or an electronic link to
5 information regarding the causes, symptoms, and transmission
6 of meningococcal disease and the availability, effectiveness,
7 known contraindications, and appropriate age for the
8 administration of any required or recommended vaccine against
9 meningococcal disease in accordance with the recommendations
10 of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the
11 United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

13 The parent guide may be included as a part of the code of
14 student conduct that is required in s. 1006.07(2).
15 Section 15. Subsection (6) of section 1002.42, Florida
16 Statutes, is amended to read:
17 1002.42 Private schools.--
18 (6) IMMUNIZATIONS.--The governing authority of each
19 private school shall:
20 (a) Require students to present a certification of
21 immunization in accordance with the provisions of s.
22 1003.22(3)-(11).
23 (b) Provide information or an electronic link to
24 information to each student's parent regarding the causes,
25 symptoms, and transmission of meningococcal disease and the
26 availability, effectiveness, known contraindications, and
27 appropriate age for the administration of any required or
28 recommended vaccine against meningococcal disease in
29 accordance with the recommendations of the Advisory Committee
30 on Immunization Practices of the United States Centers for
31 Disease Control and Prevention.
