14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         Delete everything after the enactment clause
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 1.  Section 97.05831, Florida Statutes, is
19  created to read:
20         97.05831  Voter registration applications made
21  available to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation
22  Commission.--As required in s. 372.561, each supervisor of
23  elections shall supply voter registration applications to the
24  Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and its subagents,
25  as needed.
26         Section 2.  Subsection (8) of section 372.561, Florida
27  Statutes, is renumbered as subsection (10), and new
28  subsections (8) and (9) are added to that section to read:
29         372.561  Recreational licenses, permits, and
30  authorization numbers to take wild animal life, freshwater
31  aquatic life, and marine life; issuance; costs; reporting.--

Florida Senate - 2006 COMMITTEE AMENDMENT Bill No. SB 208 Barcode 572306 1 (8) At each location where hunting, fishing, or 2 trapping licenses or permits are sold, voter registration 3 applications shall be displayed and made available to the 4 public. Subagents shall ask each person who applies for a 5 hunting, fishing, or trapping license or permit if he or she 6 would like a voter registration application and may provide 7 such application to the license or permit applicant but shall 8 not assist such persons with voter registration applications 9 or collect complete or incomplete voter registration 10 applications. 11 (9) When acting in its official capacity pursuant to 12 this section, neither the commission nor a subagent is deemed 13 a third-party registration organization, as defined in s. 14 97.021(36), or a voter registration agency, as defined in s. 15 97.021(40), and is not authorized to solicit, accept, or 16 collect voter registration applications or provide voter 17 registration services. 18 Section 3. Effective October 1, 2006, subsection (9) 19 of section 372.561, Florida Statutes, as created by this act, 20 is renumbered as subsection (11), subsection (10) of that 21 section is renumbered as subsection (13), and new subsections 22 (9), (10), and (12) are added to that section, to read: 23 372.561 Recreational licenses, permits, and 24 authorization numbers to take wild animal life, freshwater 25 aquatic life, and marine life; issuance; costs; reporting.-- 26 (9) Except as provided in subsections (8) and (12), 27 each person who applies for a hunting, fishing, or trapping 28 license or permit shall be asked if he or she would like the 29 appropriate supervisor of elections to provide a voter 30 registration application to the applicant at a later date. Florida Senate - 2006 COMMITTEE AMENDMENT Bill No. SB 208 Barcode 572306 1 that he or she would like to receive a voter registration 2 application, the commission shall, within 7 days, make the 3 request available to the appropriate supervisor of elections 4 or voter registration agency so that an application may be 5 sent to the applicant. Supervisors of elections shall mail an 6 application to each person requesting such application within 7 5 business days after receipt of the request. 8 (10) The commission may satisfy the requirements of 9 subsection (9) by providing access to an Internet site with 10 the voter registration information included thereon. 11 (12) Each person who applies for a hunting, fishing, 12 or trapping license or permit on the Internet shall be 13 provided a link to the Department of State's online uniform 14 statewide voter registration application. 15 Section 4.
