  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to license plates; amending ss.

  3         320.08056 and 320.08058, F.S.; creating a Law

  4         Enforcement Memorial license plate; providing

  5         for the distribution of annual use fees

  6         received from the sale of such plates;

  7         providing an effective date.

  8  

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Paragraph (fff) is added to subsection (4)

12  of section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:

13         320.08056  Specialty license plates.--

14         (4)  The following license plate annual use fees shall

15  be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:

16         (fff)  Law Enforcement Memorial license plate, $25.

17         Section 2.  Subsection (58) is added to section

18  320.08058, Florida Statutes, to read:

19         320.08058  Specialty license plates.--

20         (58)  LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL LICENSE PLATES.--

21         (a)  The department shall develop a Law Enforcement

22  Memorial license plate as provided in this section. The word

23  "Florida" must appear at the top of the plate, and the words

24  "Law Enforcement Memorial Heroes Live Forever" must appear at

25  the bottom of the plate.

26         (b)  The annual use fees shall be distributed to the

27  Fraternal Order of Police Memorial Fund to be used exclusively

28  to operate the Florida Law Enforcement Memorial and to pay

29  expenses of those family members of officers who die in the

30  line of duty who attend and participate in ceremonies at the

 1  National Law Enforcement Memorial and the Florida Law

 2  Enforcement Memorial.

 3         Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.
