1 Senate Resolution
2 A resolution encouraging responsible vendors
3 providing alcoholic beverages to the public to
4 use devices to prevent underage drinking and to
5 educate and train their managerial staff and
6 employees about such devices.

8 WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Florida's
9 citizens that efforts be undertaken to promote the elimination
10 of the sale of alcoholic beverages to, and consumption of
11 alcoholic beverages by, underaged persons, and
12 WHEREAS, the state would like to encourage alcoholic
13 beverage vendors to be prudent in their serving practices, and
14 WHEREAS, there is identification-verification
15 technology and devices such as age-verification machines that
16 could aid vendors in detecting such abuses of false
17 identification, and
18 WHEREAS, under current state law, vendors providing
19 alcoholic beverages to the public are not required to use such
20 devices or make their managerial staff and employees aware of
21 such devices, NOW, THEREFORE,

23 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
24
25 That responsible vendors providing alcoholic beverages
26 to the public are encouraged to provide information and
27 educate their managerial staff and employees about
28 identification-verification technology and devices such as
29 age-verification machines.
30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such vendors are encouraged
31 to purchase and utilize identification-verification technology
