11  The Committee on Banking and Insurance (Geller) recommended
12  the following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 1, lines 16-24, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         That the following amendment to Section 4 of Article IV
19  and creation of Section 8 of Article VI of the State
20  Constitution are agreed to, that they shall be submitted to
21  the electors of this state for approval or rejection at the
22  next general election or at an earlier special election
23  specifically authorized by law for that purpose, and that, if
24  approved, the amendment to Section 4 of Article IV shall take
25  effect January 6, 2009, with the office of Insurance
26  Commissioner filled initially for a 2-year term at the 2008
27  general election:
