13 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 5, between lines 8 and 9,

16 insert:
17 Section 6. (1) When a school resource officer or law
18 enforcement officer uses a dart-firing stun gun on the grounds
19 of an elementary school to subdue a public school student,
20 such officer shall provide the Department of Law Enforcement
21 with a written report of:
22 (a) The circumstances leading to the use of the
23 dart-firing stun gun;
24 (b) The age, gender, and race of the student; and
25 (c) The apparent effects of the use of the dart-firing
26 stun gun on the student.
27 (2) The Department of Law Enforcement shall maintain
28 the reports submitted pursuant to subsection (1) and make such
29 records available to the Department of Health upon request.
30 (3) Using the records submitted pursuant to subsection
31 (1) and other available information, the Department of Health

1 shall undertake an ongoing study of the medical effects on the
2 students upon whom a dart-firing stun gun has been used. On
3 December 1, 2006, the department shall provide the Legislature
4 with a written report concerning the medical effects on
5 students upon whom a dart-firing stun gun was used between
6 January 1, 2001, and August 1, 2006.

12 And the title is amended as follows:
13 On page 1, line 31, after the semicolon,
14
15 insert:
16 requiring a school resource officer or law
17 enforcement officer to make certain reports
18 concerning the use of a dart-firing stun gun;
19 requiring the Department of Law Enforcement to
20 maintain the reports and provide them to the
21 Department of Health upon request; requiring
22 the Department of Health to conduct an ongoing
23 study of the medical effects concerning certain
24 uses of dart-firing stun guns; requiring a
25 report to the Legislature;
