11 The Committee on Ways and Means (Villalobos) recommended the
12 following amendment:

15 On page 6, lines 7 through 27, delete those lines
16
17 and insert:
18 (7) ADVISORY COUNCIL.--The Secretary of Health and the
19 Secretary of Health Care Administration shall each appoint no
20 more than five members having relevant health care operations
21 management, practice, and policy experience to an advisory
22 council to advise the office regarding its responsibilities
23 under this section and ss. 381.0406 and 395.6061. Members must
24 be appointed for 4-year staggered terms and may be reappointed
25 to a second term of office. Members shall serve without
26 compensation, but are entitled to reimbursement for per diem
27 and travel expenses as provided in s. 112.061. The department
28 shall provide staff and other administrative assistance
29 reasonably necessary to assist the advisory council in
30 carrying out its duties. The advisory council shall work with
31 stakeholders to develop recommendations that address barriers

1 and identify options for establishing provider networks in
2 rural counties.
3 (8) REPORTS.--Beginning January 1, 2007, and annually
4 thereafter, the Office of Rural Health shall submit a report
5 to the Governor, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker
6 of the House of Representatives summarizing the activities of
7 the office, including the grants obtained or administered by
8 the office and the status of rural health networks and rural
9 hospitals in the state. The report must also include
10 recommendations that address barriers and identify options for
11 establishing provider networks in rural counties.
