11 The Committee on Transportation (Sebesta) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 4, between lines 2 and 3,
16
17 insert: (4) Moneys received from the increased fine imposed
18 by this subsection shall be remitted to the Department of
19 Revenue and deposited into the Department of Health
20 Administrative Trust Fund to provide financial support to
21 certified trauma centers to assure the availability and
22 accessibility of trauma services throughout the state. Funds
23 deposited into the Administrative Trust Fund under this
24 section shall be allocated as follows:
25 (a) Fifty percent shall be allocated equally among all
26 Level I, Level II, and pediatric trauma centers in recognition
27 of readiness costs for maintaining trauma services.
28 (b) Fifty percent shall be allocated among Level I,
29 Level II, and pediatric trauma centers based on each center's
30 relative volume of trauma cases as reported in the Department
31 of Health Trauma Registry.
