  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; creating s.

  3         11.95, F.S.; creating the Legislative Chamber

  4         Renovation Trust Fund within the State

  5         Legislature; providing for the use of funds and

  6         sources of funds; providing for an annual

  7         carryforward of moneys in the trust fund;

  8         providing for future review and termination or

  9         re-creation of the trust fund; providing a

10         contingent effective date.

12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13  

14         Section 1.  Section 11.95, Florida Statutes, is created

15  to read:

16         11.95  Legislative Chamber Renovation Trust Fund.--

17         (1)  The Legislative Chamber Renovation Trust Fund is

18  created within the State Legislature for the purpose of

19  providing funds for the repair, maintenance, and renovation of

20  the legislative chambers and ancillary spaces of the Senate

21  and House of Representatives.

22         (2)  Funds to be credited to the trust fund shall

23  consist of appropriations from the General Revenue Fund, as

24  well as grants or donations received for the purpose for which

25  the trust fund is created.

26         (3)  Notwithstanding the provisions of s. 216.301 and

27  pursuant to s. 216.351, any balance in the trust fund at the

28  end of a fiscal year shall remain in the trust fund and be

29  available for carrying out the purposes of the trust fund.

30         (4)  In accordance with s. 19(f)(2), Art. III of the

31  State Constitution, the trust fund shall, unless terminated

 1  sooner, be terminated on July 1, 2010. Before its scheduled

 2  termination, the trust fund shall be reviewed as provided in

 3  s. 215.3206(1) and (2).

 4         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006,

 5  but it shall not take effect unless it is enacted by a

 6  three-fifths vote of the membership of each house of the

 7  Legislature.
