11  The Committee on Justice Appropriations (Crist) recommended
12  the following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 1, line 11,
16  
17  insert:  
18         Section 1.  Section 25.383, Florida Statutes, is
19  amended to read:
20         25.383  Standards for court reporters; procedures;
21  rules of professional conduct, discipline, and training.--The
22  Supreme Court shall establish minimum standards and procedures
23  for qualifications, certification, discipline, and training
24  for court reporters. The Supreme Court shall determine the
25  amount of fees to charge applicants for certification and
26  renewal of certification. Fees shall be set in an amount
27  necessary to recover the full cost of administering the
28  certification process. All proceeds from fees collected
29  pursuant to this section shall be deposited into the Operating
30  Grants and Donations Trust Fund within the state courts. The
31  Supreme Court may appoint or employ such personnel as are

 1  necessary to assist the court in exercising its powers and
 2  performing its duties under this section.
