11 The Committee on Children and Families (Fasano) recommended
12 the following amendment:

15 Delete everything after the enacting clause

17 and insert:
18 Section 1. The Office of Program Policy Analysis and
19 Government Accountability shall evaluate the continuing
20 education requirements related to identifying victims of child
21 abuse which apply to those individuals in the occupational
22 categories that are required to provide their names to child
23 abuse hotline staff when reporting known or suspected child
24 abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The evaluation must include,
25 but need not be limited to, an assessment of compliance by
26 profession or occupation, whether the training is statutorily
27 required or required as a condition for relicensure,
28 recertification, or continued employment, and the efficacy of
29 such training. The office shall submit a report to the
30 Governor, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the
31 House of Representatives by December 31, 2006.

1 Section 2. Based on the findings of the Office of
2 Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability which
3 are included in the report required under section 1 of this
4 act, the Division of Prevention and Intervention of Children's
5 Medical Services in the Department of Health shall make
6 available an appropriate child abuse education curriculum to
7 professional reporters pursuant to s. 39.201(1)(b), Florida
8 Statutes.
9 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.

25 report to the Governor and the Legislature;
26 requiring the Department of Health to make
27 available a curriculum; providing an effective
28 date.
