12  (Argenziano) recommended the following amendment to amendment
13  (551320):

15         Senate Amendment 
16         On page 2, line 9, after the period
17  
18  insert:  The clerk of the circuit court shall immediately and
19  conspicuously post signs throughout his or her offices for
20  public viewing and shall immediately and conspicuously post,
21  on any Internet website or remote electronic site made
22  available by the clerk of the circuit court, a notice stating,
23  in substantially similar form, the following:
24         (I)  On or after October 1, 2006, any person preparing
25  or filing a court document may not include a social security
26  number of a complete bank account, debit, charge, or credit
27  card number in such document, unless required by law or court
28  rule, or necessary to the adjudication of the case.
29         II.  Any person has a right to request that the clerk
30  of the circuit court remove from an image or copy of a court
31  document a social security number or complete bank account,

 1  debit, charge, or credit card number contained in a court
 2  document. Such request must be made in writing and delivered
 3  by mail, facsimile, electronic transmission, or in person to
 4  the clerk of the circuit court. The request must specify the
 5  case number, the title of the document, and the identification
 6  page number of the document which contains the number to be
 7  redacted. A fee will not be charged for the redaction of a
 8  social security number or a complete bank account, debit,
 9  charge, or credit card number pursuant to such a request.
