  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to nursing; directing the

  3         Office of Program Policy Analysis and

  4         Government Accountability to conduct a study to

  5         evaluate whether this state should join the

  6         Nurse Licensure Compact; providing an effective

  7         date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  The Office of Program Policy Analysis and

12  Government Accountability shall conduct a study to evaluate

13  whether this state should join the Nurse Licensure Compact.

14  The study's scope must include, but need not be limited to,

15  identifying the potential impact on the state's nursing

16  shortage, benefits to the state, implementation barriers, and

17  any fiscal impact. OPPAGA shall submit a report to the

18  President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of

19  Representatives by February 1, 2007.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.
