11  The Committee on Regulated Industries (Jones) recommended the
12  following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 3...., between lines 6 and 7,

17  insert:  
18         Section 2.  Section 561.422, Florida Statutes, is
19  amended to read:
20         561.422  Nonprofit civic organizations; temporary
21  permits.--Upon the filing of an application, presentation of a
22  local building and zoning permit, and payment of a fee of $25
23  per permit, the director of the division may issue a permit
24  authorizing a bona fide nonprofit civic organization to sell
25  alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises only, for
26  a period not to exceed 3 days, subject to any state law or
27  municipal or county ordinance regulating the time for selling
28  such beverages. All net profits from sales of alcoholic
29  beverages collected during the permit period must be retained
30  by the nonprofit civic organization. Any such civic
31  organization may be issued only three such permits per

 1  calendar year. The director of the division may issue a permit
 2  to such civic organization more than three times per calendar
 3  year, but not more than 15 times per calendar year, upon the
 4  approval of the incorporated city, town, or board of county
 5  commissioners that has jurisdiction over the location of the
 6  premises. Notwithstanding other provisions of the Beverage
 7  Law, any civic organization licensed under this section may
 8  purchase alcoholic beverages from a distributor or vendor
 9  licensed under the Beverage Law.
