  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to prepaid limited and discount

  3         medical plans; amending s. 636.044, F.S.;

  4         exempting certain sellers of travel from

  5         licensing requirements to sell prepaid limited

  6         health service contracts that cover the cost of

  7         transportation provided by an air ambulance

  8         service; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Subsection (5) is added to section 636.044,

13  Florida Statutes, to read:

14         636.044  Agent licensing.--

15         (5)  A person registered as a seller of travel under s.

16  559.928 is not required to be licensed under this section in

17  order to sell prepaid limited health service contracts that

18  cover the cost of transportation provided by an air ambulance

19  service licensed pursuant to s. 401.251. The prepaid limited

20  health service contract for such coverage is, however,

21  subject to all applicable provisions of this chapter.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.

24          STATEMENT OF SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES CONTAINED IN
                       COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR

27  The committee substitute replaces the term "insurance" with
    the term "prepaid limited health service contracts" in two
28  lines of the bill.
