11  The Committee on Health Care (Peaden) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         Delete everything after the enacting clause
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 1.  The Office of Program Policy Analysis and
19  Government Accountability is directed to study and report upon
20  the practice of clinical perfusion in this state. The study
21  and report must identify the certifying agencies that provide
22  credentials for persons who provide clinical perfusion;
23  evaluate relevant workforce issues relating to clinical
24  perfusionists, including the number of such perfusionists
25  certified by national certifying agencies who are practicing
26  in this state and nationally; describe the certification and
27  recertification requirements for clinical perfusionists; and
28  identify the number of clinical perfusionists employed by
29  Florida-licensed hospitals and other health care facilities
30  that are not certified. Florida-licensed hospitals and health
31  care facilities shall provide the office with data regarding

 1  the employment of clinical perfusionists, the salaries and
 2  costs associated with persons providing clinical perfusion,
 3  and other relevant data requested in order for the office to
 4  complete the study and report required by this section. The
 5  office shall provide the report to the President of the Senate
 6  and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by February 1,
 7  2007.
 8         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.

16                      A bill to be entitled
17         An act relating to clinical perfusionists;
18         requiring the Office of Program Policy Analysis
19         and Government Accountability to study and
20         report on clinical perfusion; specifying
21         requirements concerning the study and report;
22         requiring the office to provide the report to
23         the Legislature; providing an effective date.
