11 The Committee on Education (Klein) recommended the following
12 amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 18, between lines 21 and 22,

17 insert:
18 Section 5. Paragraph (e) of subsection (2) of section
19 39.201, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
20 39.201 Mandatory reports of child abuse, abandonment,
21 or neglect; mandatory reports of death; central abuse
22 hotline.--
23 (2)
24 (e) Reports involving known or suspected institutional
25 child abuse or neglect shall be made and received in the same
26 manner as all other reports made pursuant to this section.
27 Notwithstanding subsection (1), if the report is of an
28 instance of known or suspected child abuse by an employee of a
29 public school, the department may not conduct a protective
30 investigation and the call must immediately be electronically
31 transferred to the appropriate county sheriff's office or

8 On page 1, line 30, after the first semicolon,

10 insert:
11 amending s. 39.201, F.S.; requiring the
12 Department of Children and Family Services to
13 immediately transfer to a law enforcement
14 agency a report of known or suspected child
15 abuse by an employee of a public school and not
16 conduct its own investigation;
