  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the seizure of imitation

  3         firearms; authorizing a law enforcement officer

  4         to seize any imitation firearm that is entered

  5         into commerce without having a distinctive

  6         marking; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  A law enforcement officer, as defined in s.

11  112.531(1), Florida Statutes, may seize any toy, look-alike,

12  or imitation firearm that is entered into commerce without

13  having a distinctive marking in violation of 15 U.S.C. s.

14  5001.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.

18                          SENATE SUMMARY

19    Authorizes a law enforcement officer to seize any
      imitation firearm that is entered into commerce without
20    having a distinctive marking.
