5 | Section 3. A pilot program for outsourcing driver license |
6 | services is authorized in Indian River County and may be |
7 | implemented by July 1, 2006. The Department of Highway Safety |
8 | and Motor Vehicles, upon request of the Indian River County Tax |
9 | Collector, is directed to implement such outsourcing through the |
10 | tax collector's office in Indian River County. Any necessary |
11 | equipment shall also be provided by the department. Approvals of |
12 | outsourcing to an outside entity shall be similar to approvals |
13 | required of state-approved private automobile tag and |
14 | registration entities. Service fees and services provided for |
15 | any outsourcing shall be negotiated by the tax collector and the |
16 | private entity. By February 1, 2007, the department and the tax |
17 | collector shall together provide a status report to the |
18 | President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of |
19 | Representatives, which shall include, but not be limited to, |
20 | customer satisfaction, wait times, and cost efficiencies of the |
21 | program. |
