  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Hardee County Economic

  3         Development Authority; amending s. 3, chapter

  4         2004-394, Laws of Florida; revising the

  5         membership of the Hardee County Economic

  6         Development Authority; providing an effective

  7         date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 3 of chapter

12  2004-394, Laws of Florida, is amended to read:

13         Section 3.  Authority composition; procedures.--

14         (1)  The authority shall consist of nine members

15  serving staggered terms and selected in the following manner:

16         (a)  The President of the Hardee County Farm Bureau or

17  the president's designee for an initial term of 3 years;

18         (b)  The director Secretary of the Agency for Workforce

19  Innovation Florida Department of Community Affairs or its

20  successor agency or the director's secretary's designee for an

21  initial term of 2 years;

22         (c)  The chairman of Enterprise Florida or its

23  successor agency or the chairman's designee for an initial

24  term of 2 years;

25         (d)  The chairman of the Florida Phosphate Council or

26  the chairman's designee for an initial term of 3 years;

27         (e)  The president of the Hardee County Chamber of

28  Commerce or the president's designee for an initial term of 3

29  years; and

30         (f)  Four members appointed by the commission. Two of

31  these shall be designated at-large, and of these one shall

 1  serve an initial term of 3 years and one shall serve an

 2  initial term of 2 years. One of the remaining commission

 3  appointments shall be designated Seat 8 and the appointee

 4  shall be appointed for an initial term of 2 years; the last

 5  commission appointment shall be designated Seat 9 and the

 6  appointee shall be appointed for an initial term of 3 years.

 7  Persons appointed to Seat 8 and Seat 9 shall be selected from

 8  a pool of nominees consisting of two persons designated by the

 9  governing body of each municipality in the county. All members

10  except the members designated under paragraphs (b) and (c)

11  must be residents of the county. Initial terms of office begin

12  January 1, 2005.

13         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

14  law.
