11  Senator Wise moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 10, between lines 17 and 18,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 3.  Paragraph (g) of subsection (2) of section
18  287.055, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
19         287.055  Acquisition of professional architectural,
20  engineering, landscape architectural, or surveying and mapping
21  services; definitions; procedures; contingent fees prohibited;
22  penalties.--
23         (2)  DEFINITIONS.--For purposes of this section:
24         (g)  A "continuing contract" is a contract for
25  professional services entered into in accordance with all the
26  procedures of this act between an agency and a firm whereby
27  the firm provides professional services to the agency for
28  projects in which construction costs do not exceed $1.5 $1
29  million, for study activity when the fee for such professional
30  service does not exceed $50,000, or for work of a specified
31  nature as outlined in the contract required by the agency,

 1  with no time limitation except that the contract must provide
 2  a termination clause. Firms providing professional services
 3  under continuing contracts shall not be required to bid
 4  against one another.
