  2         A joint resolution rescinding and withdrawing

  3         House Joint Resolution 1177 (2005), which

  4         relates to limitations on the number of

  5         consecutive years during which certain elected

  6         constitutional officers may hold office before

  7         being denied the right to have their names

  8         appear on the ballot.

10  Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         That House Joint Resolution 1177, adopted in the 2005

13  Regular Session and entitled "A joint resolution proposing an

14  amendment to Section 4 of Article VI and the creation of

15  Section 26 of Article XII of the State Constitution relating

16  to limitations on the number of consecutive years during which

17  certain elected constitutional officers may hold office before

18  being denied the right to have their names appear on the

19  ballot," is rescinded and withdrawn.

20         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proposed amendment to

21  Section 4 of Article VI and the creation of Section 26 of

22  Article XII of the State Constitution shall not be submitted

23  to the electors of this state for approval or rejection at the

24  general election to be held in November 2006, and the

25  Secretary of State shall withhold House Joint Resolution 1177

26  (2005) from the ballot of the 2006 general election.
