1 Senate Resolution
2 A resolution recognizing March 21 and 22, 2006,
3 as "Massage Therapy Legislative Awareness
4 Days."

6 WHEREAS, members of the Florida State Massage Therapy
7 Association and the Florida Chapter of the American Massage
8 Therapy Association throughout the state are actively involved
9 in public awareness and health programs to improve the health
10 and quality of life of Florida residents, and
11 WHEREAS, the Florida State Massage Therapy Association
12 and the Florida Chapter of the American Massage Therapy
13 Association have been holding Massage Therapy Legislative
14 Awareness Days at the Florida Capitol since 1988 for the
15 purpose of educating the State Legislature and the public
16 concerning the many health benefits of massage therapy, and
17 WHEREAS, licensed massage therapists have been licensed
18 and regulated in the State of Florida since 1943, and there
19 are more than 23,000 massage therapists licensed by the state,
20 and
21 WHEREAS, massage therapy is a low-cost, high-quality
22 means of enhancing and restoring health, and
23 WHEREAS, increased awareness of the benefits of massage
24 therapy will lead to improved health and vitality of the
25 residents of the State of Florida, and
26 WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes massage therapy for
27 wellness and preventive health measures, NOW, THEREFORE,

29 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
