  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to Broward County; providing

  3         for annexation and deannexation of certain

  4         described lands within the municipal limits of

  5         the City of Pembroke Pines and the Town of

  6         Southwest Ranches; providing an effective date.

  7  

  8         WHEREAS, the approximately 30 acres of property known

  9  as the Laguna Isles Community Center and adjoining wetlands is

10  currently located in the Town of Southwest Ranches, with the

11  remaining area of the Laguna Isles community residing in the

12  City of Pembroke Pines, and

13         WHEREAS, the approximately 30 acres of property known

14  as the Frontier Trails Park is owned by the Town of Southwest

15  Ranches, but currently resides in the City of Pembroke Pines,

16  and both municipalities desire to return these properties to

17  the appropriate municipality, NOW, THEREFORE,

18  

19  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

20  

21         Section 1.  The lands contained in the following legal

22  description are deannexed from the City of Pembroke Pines,

23  Broward County:

24         ALL OF THE PLAT OF "FRONTIER TRAILS", AS

25         RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 97, PAGE 8, OF THE PUBLIC

26         RECORDS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA. SAID LANDS

27         SITUATE IN THE CITY OF PEMBROKE PINES, BROWARD

28         COUNTY, FLORIDA AND CONTAINING 30.057 ACRES,

29         MORE OR LESS.

 4         A PORTION OF PARCEL C, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT OF

 5         BIG SKY NORTH RESIDENTIAL, AS RECORDED IN PLAT

 6         BOOK 168 AT PAGE 24 OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF

 7         BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, TOGETHER WITH A

 8         PORTION OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF SHERIDAN STREET

 9         AS NOW LOCATED AND CONSTRUCTED, AND BEING MORE

10         PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:  BEGINNING

11         AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF SAID PARCEL C;
